OUR STORY

John and Carolyn both moved back to San Francisco in 2021. John returned from 7 years in Sydney and Carolyn came back after years in NYC. Carolyn caught John's eye at a friend's Christmas party in bright red pants, and we quickly got into a deep chat and a bowl of red and green peanut M&Ms (our favorite candy). She was a California girl, yet she had survived four winters in Ithaca, NY, which scored her major points with John, an upstate NY native. Though the spark was undeniable, it wasn't until our paths crossed again a few months later at the Royal Cuckoo, that John asked for Carolyn's number. This time, we couldn't ignore the connection and started dating shortly thereafter.

We bonded over our surprisingly similar tastes for briny oysters and anchovies, love of getting outside for trail runs, surfs, swims, and deep powder days, and reflective mindsets and journaling practices (just ask us about our Check-Ins!). Since then, we've enjoyed cooking for and hosting many of you at our dinner, Christmas, and Pi Day parties, navigated the rollercoasters of jobs and life stage transitions of our early (mid?) 30s, and tore up dance floors at many of your weddings.

On a rainy day in November, John convinced Carolyn to go back to the site of one their early, turning point dates near Tomales Bay. After shucking a few oysters and a brief speech (that Carolyn tried to turn into a conversation), John proposed. Carolyn said yes and we enjoyed a picturesque sunset picnic, just the two of us and some happy cows overlooking the ocean.

Over the last few years, we've built a strong partnership together, deepened bonds with each other's families and created a community with all of you. Thanks for your support and love on our journey as individuals and now together.
